LONGVIEW · On Lake Oliver
1405 Big Eddy Court, Columbus, Georgia
$10,000,000
At A Glance
Originally drawn by architect Yong Pak and renovated by Spitzmiller & Norris with interiors by Suzanne Kasler, LONGVIEW occupies 4.3 fully fenced acres on one of the most discreet stretches of water in the region. Seven bedrooms. Twelve baths. A formal oak allee from the gate. A two-story boathouse at the dock.
A First Look
An ivy-clad facade behind a wrought-iron gate. A double staircase under crystal. A formal living room with Venetian plaster. The pool framed by twin loggias above the lake. The boathouse with its motorized lifts. Each room has its own moment.
“A formal oak allee leads to a gated, fully fenced property with rose gardens, a parterre garden, and a private secret garden.”
The Estate
LONGVIEW is the product of four hands working in agreement. Architect Yong Pak set the proportions and the geometry. Spitzmiller & Norris, with builder Johnny Cargill, brought the renovation. Suzanne Kasler wrote the interiors. Page | Duke and Carmen Johnston laid the grounds. The result is a 24,851 square foot residence that does not feel its size, because every room was given its own light, its own ceiling, its own role.
Inside, the Jerusalem stone foyer opens to a double staircase and a two-story living room finished in Venetian plaster, with sweeping views to the water. The family room is paneled in lime-washed white oak. The river room carries a pecky cypress coffered ceiling. The kitchen, recently rebuilt, is Calcutta gold marble, Christopher Peacock cabinetry, and Waterworks fittings, with a butler's pantry behind it. The main level primary suite was redesigned in full, baths and closets included. Upstairs, six ensuite bedrooms.
Below grade, the terrace level runs commercial: a catering kitchen, walk-in cooler, dumbwaiter, sauna and steam, large gym, wine cellar, and a fully automated three-stall gun range. Concrete-and-steel structure. Geothermal HVAC. Lutron lighting. Hope's steel windows and doors. Elevator to all three levels. Whole-house generator. Cedar-lined closets. Four-car garages. A pebble tec heated pool. A custom chicken coop and a playhouse on the grounds. And, at the dock, a newly rebuilt two-story boathouse with motorized lifts under a cedar shake roof.
The Lake
Lake Oliver runs along the Chattahoochee River, one of the most refined and least known waterfront environments in the region. Quiet, intimate, and the reason this address exists.

Columbus itself is anchored by Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies and is built around the outdoors: miles of riverfront walking and cycling paths, top tier golf courses, private clubs, a private airport, and the country's premier urban whitewater course. Sophisticated. Quiet about it.
